Claire MacPherson
Hi! I grew up in Fredericton but officially left in 2000 to move to Toronto and complete my education as a Registered Massage Therapist, graduating in 2002. As a competitive equestrian, rugby player and skier, I had always been interested in movement, performance, injury, and recovery. These interests shaped my early sports-focused practice and eventually took me to Whistler, BC, where I lived and worked for many years. After taking a break from massage therapy to work as a carpenter and boatbuilder, I returned to practice in 2017 and opened a clinic in Powell River, BC. My focus shifted toward a more osteopathically informed approach and a deeper understanding of the body’s inherent healing capacity. I pursued further training in craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and neural manipulation. In 2022, I enrolled in a four-year Traditional Chinese Medicine program in Toronto. I have now completed all of my academic coursework, with only my remaining acupuncture and herbal medicine clinical hours left to complete. This brings me home to Fredericton, where I can finish my training while spending time with my parents. My interests have increasingly led me toward women’s health and pelvic health for both women and men. As a breast cancer survivor, I have also developed a special interest in oncology care, particularly supporting people navigating breast cancer and its treatment. I have completed additional training in oncology acupuncture and pelvic-floor acupuncture and breast massage. While in New Brunswick, I’ll be working as both an RMT and a student acupuncturist as I complete my clinical training. As an RMT, I’m also certified to provide acupuncture from a musculoskeletal perspective. My treatments may incorporate cupping, gua sha, and other tool-assisted techniques, along with a broader Traditional Chinese Medicine-informed lens. I draw from a range of approaches to tailor each treatment to the individual, but I would describe my overall style as osteopathically informed. I look forward to meeting and working with you. Claire is a Registered Massage Therapist and her treatments are covered under most insurance plans with direct billing available. She is currently accepting new clients.
